Giving Up and It's Repercussions.

Hey Blog-o-sphere.

Don't you hate it when people just give up?

Give up on work, marriage, diets, happiness, their dreams; hell, even finishing dinner on time? I bet there's many of you out there that do. I know I do. I know there will probably be zero people reading this, but hey, bear with me as I bitch and moan with the best of them.

What get's under my skin the most is when people just give up on a friendship- when two people, who have been through a lot together- school, sickness, family, heartbreak, and all the good stuff too, when they hit a roadblock, one of them just gives up. It's a hurdle that anyone could get over wit just a little effort. But they just stop fighting. They dismiss you. Ignore you. Replace you. And the other is left with broken down walls and the simple question, "Why?".

I'd like to be able to answer that question. Dear Lord, would I love to be able to answer it, but I can't. No one can. We can justify it, "It was time.",, "We've grown apart.", "They aren't worth the trouble."; or we can blame ourselves, "I was too needy.", "I'm not good enough.", "Did I really support them as much as I could?"; or you can blame them, "They're emotionally stunted.", "They're a lazy bum.", or "They couldn't take how much I challenged them".

We can scream these "answers" to ourselves until our faces turn blue, but it isn't going to matter, because I'll bet most of us never truly find out. And that is completely unacceptable, but that's life. And it happens to everyone. New acquaintances, someone you've known since you were four, or someone you've been best friends with for 5 years. No matter who gives up, it still hurts like hell.

But, hey, before I spiral into a depressing oblivion here and scare the few people who may be reading this away; personally, I don't think these have to be lost causes.

Maybe, in some cases, we'd be better off without the jerks in our lives, but if we look hard, way down deep, and we still think we're better off with them around, then we fight twice as hard!

Watch. Wait. Take chances. Fight for them. Fight for you. Don't give up. And maybe (maybe?) we'll get our answers.

Good night my lovelies, and good luck.
